Here you have several different options for searching, including address, neighborhood name, subdivision name, and parcel ID.
First select the search method you wish to use, for this example, we will select address. Then enter your search, and click the search button.
Then the site will display a list of potential matches. Once you find the property you are looking for, click on the schedule number for that property.
Scroll down to the very bottom where it says Treasurer Information. Click on Treasurer Information.
Look under the column, Full Amount. The Original Bill is the yearly property tax.
Take this number and divide it by 12. This is the monthly amount of the property tax.
In many situations, a lender will collect the monthly property tax as part of your payment. This property tax is kept in an escrow account at the lender, and then when the property taxes become due, the tax is paid by the lender from the escrow account. You can see that is what has happened in the above example, where CitiMortgage sent in a payment for $854.46. The lender collects the property taxes to ensure that they are paid, because if they are not paid, the lender has a huge risk because property taxes prevail over any liens. Once the owner has about 20% equity, they can ask the lender to stop collecting the escrow, and the owner can pay the taxes directly if they so wish.
